The quest for tomorrow’s office began 130 years ago
The discussion about office of the future keeps getting hotter and hotter.
Having worked with tomorrow’s offices for 130 years, we are pleased with the growing interest in the design of efficient and creative workplaces.
At the Stockholm Furniture Fair on February 9-13 2016, EFG exhibits a large variety of modern and smart solutions for today's and tomorrow's office environments.
In 1885 we manufactured our first piece of furniture, a simple but well-built wooden chair. Today we are one of the leading furniture and interior design companies in Europe. We are proud of our long experience and know-how. We also remain humble and curious. Which needs and requirements must our products and solutions match in tomorrow's office environments?
Considering today's rapid pace of change, our solutions and products are more relevant than ever. Literally every day EFG furnishes a new office that answers to the vision and dreams articulated by our clients and their employees.
-All our interior solution processes start by listening closely to the clients individual office staff members and what they need to perform at their best. It is the core of our entire business philosophy, says Marcus Westdahl, CEO of EFG European Furniture Group.
Inferior design can have a devastating impact on companies' overall performance and profitability. When interior solutions are adapted to how you actually work with different tasks and activities, both job satisfaction and efficiency increases. Productivity is boosted and earnings follow.
One example is integrating technology in interior design in new ways which leads to a healthier workday and that organizes the work more practically. On the individual level it takes the form of new smart accessories, for instance by intelligent booking system for shared workstations for the office as a whole. Smart solutions create space even in small rooms. Space-efficient design makes room for more people and functions without the rooms feeling crowded and cramped.
Another important and growing issue concerns noise climate. Our latest contribution is called EFG Surround, a "room within a room" system that creates space-efficient workspaces for both individual work as well as creative meetings where nobody is disturbed.
-There are specific products for sound absorption, but we believe that almost all furniture can contribute to noise reduction and improved acoustics, says Marianne Dahl, design and product development manager at EFG.
EFG's uniquely flexible range includes more than 3 500 standard products with people in focus - furniture that is aesthetic, functional, sustainable, innovative and adaptable. Our design and model workshop can produce custom-made furniture and we are wide open to our customers' own ideas. We help getting everything in place, installed, cleaned and ready. With personalized service and a world-class customer service, we handle service and support in the best possible way.
Finally, we offer the EFG Reuse service where we inventory all redundant or surplus items when a client has decided to invest in new furniture. First we look at what can be sold and used by someone else. Then we donate (in the name of the client) to charity organizations. What little possibly remains, we send for recycling. Finally, the customer receives a report listing both the financial savings and where the different products have gone. The circle is closed.
